Reflection
For FASD Instructional Coaches, this study is a helpful reminder that brain changes linked to prenatal exposure can keep unfolding over time, sometimes becoming more noticeable as kids grow older and face new challenges at school and in life. It reinforces the importance of approaching students with curiosity and compassion, especially when we see behaviours that suggest they’re struggling with regulation, attention, or sleep. These findings support what we already know: students impacted by prenatal exposures benefit most when adults meet them with understanding and strategies that match how their brains work.
